Who We Are
Fauquier Forward is a bipartisan coalition of neighbors, families, farmers, business owners, firefighters, law-enforcement officers, teachers and community leaders committed to Fauquier’s future. As a locally based, donor-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we educate, engage, and empower residents to advance smart growth, strong schools, and responsible infrastructure—so our county can flourish.
We unite people from every corner of the county around one simple goal: a future where roads, schools, public-safety services, and zoning policies keep pace with our growing community. At the heart of our mission is a single belief: growth should make life better for everyone.
Over the past few years, Fauquier residents have raised their voices—on ball fields, at church picnics, in local cafés, and on front porches. Their message is clear: we love Fauquier—its farms, open spaces, and small-town character. But we also share real concerns: schools struggling to keep up, teachers underpaid, families spending hours on the road to reach good jobs, seniors on fixed incomes strained by rising property taxes, and the need to ensure our farmers, firefighters, and law-enforcement officers have the resources and support they need.
The community’s call is unmistakable: we don’t want change for change’s sake. We want growth that protects our county’s character while bringing more prosperity, fairness, and opportunity for everyone.
That’s what Fauquier Forward stands for. We’re not here to push a single project or any party’s agenda—we’re here to amplify residents’ voices, ensure concerns are addressed, and safeguard our shared future.
By working across divides and focusing on common-sense solutions, together we can build a county that works better—for families, businesses, farmers, public-safety professionals, and everyone who calls Fauquier home.
This is about moving forward—together.
Our Mission
To advocate—constructively and collaboratively—for:
Infrastructure improvements that support safe roads, reliable utilities, and well-resourced law-enforcement and fire-rescue services.
Strong public schools with sustainable funding.
Support for local farmers and the agricultural economy that preserves Fauquier’s rural character.
Responsible zoning reforms that expand the commercial tax base while preserving the county’s small-town charm and character.
Policies that help keep property taxes manageable, especially for families and seniors on fixed incomes.
Why This Matters
Fauquier County’s growth is outpacing investment in critical services:
Schools face overcrowding and funding gaps.
Infrastructure lags behind the needs of residents, businesses, and our first responders.
Farmers and rural landowners face mounting pressure from development and rising costs.
Property taxes continue to climb, straining families and seniors.
Zoning policies have not kept up with changing demographics and development pressures.
These delays and pressures create real hardships for families, businesses, and those who protect and sustain our community. Together, we can change that.
Add your name to show county leaders that thousands of residents want progress now.
